49 deliveries to 11 customers (7 new) +2 A350-1000 deliveries to Flight test
Quite funny way to say Airbus achieved the delivery target of 50.
Well, they did not - even if by a hair breadth - even if they tried not to say so ! Of course, one single missing delivery does not matter, and Airbus can be pleased.
Technically, you are right, they didn't mention the number of 50, but if you listen back to the webcasting, they claimed that "we've met our delivery target for the A350 in 2016".
And the target has been repeatedly mentioned as 50 during 2016.
While say meeting the target with the slide exactly showing:
"49 deliveries to 11 customers (7 new) +2 A350-1000 deliveries to Flight test"
Don't you see the funny side?
And let me be very academic, if you want to quote what I said, can you please quote my whole sentence please? Not delete part of it, that is not a proper quotation, and easily misunderstood and/or misleading. Especially you even changed the lower case to upper case.
I've never believed Airbus can deliver 50 A350 in 2016, but I said "It's definitely a great achievement despite all the supply chain difficulties they faced in 2016", in fact, a remarkable turn around for A350 production. Hats off for all people working on that production line.
