What does he mean with reworks? Changing an defect engine before delivery?

What does he mean with reworks? Changing an defect engine before delivery? All 787s up to LN 65 had to undergo extensive rework before delivery. The earlier frames required many months of rework. The EMC (Everett modification center), which performs that work, is scheduled to be closed no sooner than 2015.

The first 787's (line no 7 through 19) needed around 6000 modifications. Line no 66 needed only about 300.
