Not surprising at all, a GTA is not an order, or even an option ?

Not surprising at all, a GTA is not an order, or even an option ? Actually, a GTA is much more than a MoU or a LoI, it is a not-yet-firm-but-soon-to-be order. Only the timing of execution is unclear.

I am not sure the use of the word execution is a good one ?

I am not sure the use of the word execution is a good one ? Well ... I don't know. If 'implementation' is better, alright.

Back the discussion we had a month back.
The last GTA was immediatelly in the order book - not so now. So Still what the GTA exactly is ?
I know the definition....
Anyway if - as it seems - I understand it well - it is an order since the customer can not retreat but is not yet order since it is not in the books and most probably he did not paid the "downpayments". So it can be "firmed" any time in the future and is hard to predict, how ever the "sureness" of it is bigger then MoU or LoI.

If you go further in that line of thought, you'll wonder how firm is a 'firm' order, when cancellation is a frequent practice. I think huge backlogs, with deliveries spanning sometimes more than a decade, have resulted in a trend to allow airlines more flexibility at least as long as they give sufficient notice of the desired changes.

Yeah - we know of many "orders" in the books but we well know they will most probably never going to happen......

I think the "Gross" and "Net" should swap places with each other.
