Would be interesting to see if other North American Carriers employ this strategy...

Not necessarily, Delta's N389DN is a XFW built A321 that was delivered to El Salvador after the tariffs were put in place: aibfamily.flights/registration/N389DNHas been exclusively flying international routes: paxex.aero/2020/07/delta-air-lines-a321-international/Past few weeks have been exclusively Montego Bay (Jamaica) - Atlanta - Montego Bay, suggesting that it's currently Jamaica based I guess. planefinder.net/data/aircraft/N389DNThere are of course multiple US airlines that have Airbus NB on order that will be XFW or TLS built. Maybe DL is the only one with this strategy because they're more (isn't it even 100%?) reliant on new Airbus aircraft and the likes of for example American Airlines decide to pay the extra tax on the European built aircraft to avoid having to think of these kind of constructions which of course cost money as well. AAL still has B787 on order and when the MAX is cleared to fly again...
