Interestingly, the Flightglobal story states that DL intends to use the A339 to replace ageing 767-300ERs. DL is said to operate 79 767s, though I don't know how many of them are -300ER. Should additional A339 orders be expected ?

Should additional A339 orders be expected ? The 79 767 are 2 767-300, 56 767-300ER, 21 767-400ER. I assume that the 767-300 are replaced by A321 or 737-900 The 767-300ER are of mixed age the oldest 29 years and the youngest 17 years old. I assume the oldest 35 being replaced by the A330-900. The 767-400ER are not up for replacement yet, they are on average 18 years old.

guys, was Delta the actual launch customer for the 251Tonne version? I think it has been up to now pure speculation what frame will be the first 251t and what customer will be the first for a 251t frame.

Can't they orders A330-800neo with 251t version? A338neo can fly more nonstop flight from LAX, SEA, JFK, DTW or anywhere else. the range is more than 8,100nm.
