I have been away from the boards for a long time due to workload ……. I understand that it is not uncommon when deals are signed between airlines and Airbus for the delivery date to be specified as a month with the actual date specified closer to the time of delivery. In some cases Airbus can specify the day of the delivery and in others the airline can specify the date of the delivery.
If I am correct then it would seem that BA have the decision in this case and, as they don’t need the frame, I assume they have selected the last possible date in the month. The banks do not open on a Sunday so the “delivery date” cannot be a Sunday as BA could not pay for the aircraft on that date. it might be the "fly away" date could be a Sunday and the delivery date Friday.

In that case, they got it wrong, since they could have picked Monday, February 29th !

I heard that BA were expecting this frame 28th Jan ? But they have a 789 on delivery from Paine same day so who knows ? Interesting that BA ( Willie Walsh) said that BA are possibly looking at 6 more a 380s but would be buying used frames - roll on a sale of 6 RR powered Malaysian 380 s???

A 3 hours 1 minute flight, which looked like a perfect CAF with go-around:
