I knew about this info when I started to use flightradar24 years ago. I read at that time their story in the About Us section.

Depending on the legal and financial framework being used, this visit to the UK airspace may have been a legal necessity. Yes, in some cases. However, this was just a normal scheduled flight from LHR, flying west all the way to Bristol, before heading south to Morocco.
