Welcome the first operator Has something changed? I thought Qatar was supposed to be the first. It is still a -2xx series as stealthmanbob points out. Only the engine number has been updated to give -271. But I will agree that there's some inconsistency in Airbus's naming of the neos. The A330neos get new -800 and -900 model numbers for similar changes whereas the A320neos stick to the same old. I wonder what the A380neo will get considering the speculation that it might be stretched a bit. I assume the A320neo and A330neo are not comparable. The A320 gets the new engines as the neo. The A330 gets the new engines, a wing treatment including sharklets and weight watchers diet cure.

Lufthansa handover planned for december 22 now. So they might be the first neo operator not Qatar.
