In 2015 I kept a list of all technical issues with A380's that led to flight cancellations or serious delays. I compiled it from my own observations, plus data from the various 'Sources' (EK, BA, Qatar, Qantas, Etihad). In a way it is inconclusive, as my view on any issues with the Korean A380's is a bit obscured. Although I have reason to think that Asiana is doing pretty well on reliability.
So any additions are welcome, but here it is. And with most in service with Emirates, it's no wonder they have the most issues too:
Technical issues A380:
January 3: Emirates EDG, 3 days out of service in Shanghai with nosewheel issue.
January 8: Emirates EDP, 3 days in Brisbane, problem unknown.
January 14: Emirates EDT, half a day in Munich for checks after she had to do a heavy landing after a medical emergency on EK8 London/Dubai.
January 16: British Airways XLEC, electrical problem in Johannesburg
January 17: Qantas OQC, aircosystem issue on her way to LA as QF11, returned to Sydney but after two hours was fixed.
January 28: Emirates EEI, hit by airbridge at gate London Heathrow just before operating EK2, back on January 31 as EK7002.
January 29: Qantas OQG, issue with engine no 1 when taxing out in Dallas, back to the gate. Departuredelayed until January 30.
February 2: Emirates EDG, flap issues on right wing after arrival at Heathrow. Technical staff brought over from Dubai, problem fixed only on February 4.
February 23: Emirates EEZ, tech issue before departing Mauritius, left one day later.
March 2: Qatar APA, hydraulic issue during taxing at London Heathrow as QR4, 4 hour delay.
March 16: Lufthansa AIME, unknown issue in San Francisco, flight home cancelled. Returned home only on the 19th.
March 20: Emirates EEP, unknown issue in New York, returnflight EK202D on March 21.
March 26: Emirates EDM, tech issue after arrival in Auckland as EK412. Left again day later.
March 27: Qantas OQG, tech issue at London Heathrow, lef ton March 31.
March 31: Qantas OQK as QF11 Sydney-LA, stranded in LA with tech issue, leaving on April 1 as LA-Melbourne QF94.
April 1: Thai Airways TUB, catering truck punched hole in starboard fuselage in Paris, repaired on the spot, left on April 3.
April 8: Lufthansa AIME, flap issue after take off to Miami, returned to Frankfurt. Problem fixed and aircraft ready that same evening for Singapore.
April 10: Qantas OQK, tech issue in LA after arrival as QF11. Left day later again.
April 15: Qantas OQF, damaged tailplane during maintenance in hangar in Sydney. Out of service for 3 weeks.
April 28: Emirates EOB, tech issue at London Heathrow before operating EK6, departed on the 29th.
April 28: Emirates EDI, tech issue in Bangkok before operating EK373, departed the 29th.
May 6: Thai Airways TUA, landing gear issue after take off from Bangkok for Frankfurt. Returned to Bangkok. Back in service only on May 8.
May 20: Emirates EET, medical emergency as EK222 Dallas-Dubai, landed in Warsaw, damaged to nose gear when she hit a landing light on the runway.
May 28: Emirates EDW, tech issue before leaving Munich as EK50, departed on the 30th.
June 2: Qantas OQI, made unscheduled landing in Sydney when operating QF93 Melbourne-LA due to problem with cabin pressure. Continued after 7 hours.
June 4: Qantas OQI, issue in LA after arrival as QF11 uit Sydney. Departed on the 6th.
June 15: Emirates EEF, tech issue before departing Toronto als EK242, departing day late.
June 22: Qantas OQK, tech issue on flight Melbourne-LA, leaving LA on the 23rd.
June 23: China Southern B-6138, tech issue in Amsterdam before returnflight to Beijing, departing on the 24th.
June 24: Qantas OQD, hydraulic issue after arriving in LA, back in Melbourne July 1
June 27: Qantas OQC, engine change between flight from LA and to Dallas.
June 28: Qantas OQG, tech issue after arriving in London, departing day later.
July 5: Emirates EDX, tech issue in Manchester before leaving as EK18, departing day later.
July 17: Emirates EDC, issue in Brisbane when operating EK435 Auckland-Brisbane-Dubai, departing on the 18th.
July 18: Emirates EDF, tech issue in Paris, leaving on the 19th as EK76D.
July 20: Emirates EDA, tech issue in Munich, leaving on the 21st as EK52D.
July 23: Lufthansa AIMG, returning to Frankfurt when already over Poland as LH712 to Seoul with unknown tech issue. Fixed again on the 24th and operating to Singapore.
July 24: Emirates EET, issue in Munich before leaving as EK52, EDT came to rescue on the 25th for delayed EK52D.
July 31: Emirates EEB, issue at London Heatrhow before EK8, departing a day later.
August 9: Emirates EDT, issue on Mauritius before operating EK704, fixed only the 11th.
August 27: Qantas OQI, tech issue in Melbourne before operating QF9 to Dubai, departing day later.
August 31: Qantas OQD, operating QF2 Dubai-Sydney, diversion to Perth with fuelpump problem. Fixed on September 1 and returned tot Sydney.
September 4: Emirates EEX, operating EK205 Dubai-Milan-New York. Tech issue in Milan. EK205 continued on September 5 by EDL. EEX flown to Dubai without pax.
September 6: Air France HPJB, operating AF6 Paris-New York, over France returning to Paris with unknown issue. HPJF took over flight.
September 15: Singapore Airlines SKT, returned to Tokyo on SQ12 Tokyo-LA with engine vibration. Engine changed, left Tokyo for Singapore on the 19th.
September 15: Qantas OQH, tech issue before departing as QF93 to LA, flight delayed until the 16th.
September 16: China Southern B-6136, possibly tech issue in Chengdu, where she was grounded for 1,5 day. This forced 6138 to do three consecutive return flights to Amsterdam.
September 16: Emirates EDA, tech issue after arriving in Sydney. Departing day later.
September 23: Emirates EEM, tech issue after arriving LA technisch probleem, departing on the 27th.
October 13: Emirates EON, tech issue in Munich, departing a day later.
October 15: Emirates EDZ, tehc issue in Dallas, departing a day later.
October 24: Emirates EEM, tech issue in San Fransico, departing a day later.
November 6: Emirates EDP, tech issue in Sydney as EK412, returning to Dubai on the 9th.
November 11: Emirates EDS, tech issue in Paris, departing a day later.
November 11: Emirates EEN, tech issue in Singapore, departing a day later.
November 15: British Airways XLEH, broken weather radar in flight after take off from Johannesburg, fixed only on the 18th.
November 16: Emirates EOK, tech issue in Milan as EK205 Milan-New York. Returning tot Dubai only on the 18th.
November 21: Emirates EDR, tech issue in Mumbai before returnflight EK501, rescue flight by EDB. EDR departed on the 23rd.
December 3: Emirates EDA, issue in Sydney as EK413 left only December 4.
December 12: Emirates EEO, operating Houston-Dubai, but diverted to Rome with unkown problem. Passengers transferred to EK98 and 100. EEO returned a day later.
December 16: Emirates EDP. Tech issue in Brisbane when operating EK435 Auckland-Brisbane-Dubai. EDP continued on the 17th.
December 24: Emirates EDV, tech issue in Bangkok, unable to continue to Hong Kong. Fixed on the 25th and operating Bangkok-Brisbane, taking over from EDO Brisbane-Auckland as EK434. On the 27th took over from a stranded 777 to operate Melbourne-Singapore-Dubai on EK405.
December 25: Emirates EDO, tech issue in Brisbane, unable to continue to Auckland as EK434. Fixed in time to operate EK435 Brisbane-Dubai.
December 26, British Airways XLEB, issue at the gate before departure to Johannesburg, flight cancelled and taken over by XLEH next day. XLEB fixed within a day.
December 30: Emirates EEK, issue in Sydney on EK413 before departing for Dubai. Returned on December 31.
December 31: Emirates EOH, after departing Los Angeles as EK216 returned to airport with gear retraction issue. Departure postponed, pax picked up by 777 on January 1. EOH returned to Dubai on January 2 2016.
