Not mentioned in the press release, but that probably means a cancellation in the remaining A330-300 on order

This is new evidence that Airbus has no plan to cancel the A319neo, in spite of persistent A.net rumours.

Fingers crossed - It must be a firm order before we claim victory ! So, Iran Air most probably was one of Leahy's mysterious A380 prospects !
EDIT : let's continue the discussion in the 'new customers' thread, until the order is officialised and an 'Iran Air A380s' thread is created.

Could an Iranian order be the push that the other airlines need in ordering the A380.( I.e. if they want them then maybe we should to.) Imay be looking at it from the wrong angle. But could happen.

But Leahy was talking about 2 customers interested in buying 10-12 and 20 planes, wasn't he? Iran Air is not buying that many...

I still do believe it is the TK ! At the time it would come to fruition the airport would be ready.

A few more details from www.firstpost.comSo this leaves room for only 5-10 A340, what is somehow surprising for me because i had the impression that Iran will take most of the short-term available A340s.

Iran Air is hardly seen as a role model in the industry, no? Also, as I understand they want to offer affordable direct flights for Iranians living abroad, like in the US, so they don't go by Dubai (EK) or Istanbul (TK). EK is already massively invested in A380, while TK hasn't ordered it yet because they can't use it in IST. So I don't see any other airline affected by this decision, IF it is finalized like this.
