I don't really understand, hasn't the A350 been flying to PER already?.......... Yes, the A350's has already been flying to Australia for a while now (QR to ADL (PER was just a medical diversion) and SQ to MEL) so CASA (Australia's civil aviation safety regulator) shouldn't have a problem with the aircraft. What I'm guestimating is that every airline that flies into a foreign country requires a Foreign AOC (Air Operators Certificate) and I'm guessing that paperwork or checks of the new type may have to be completed to add an aircraft onto that foreign AOC.

Is the latest delay a consequence of the MSN 44 (TG 1) incident ?

Thai still haven't received approval from CASA (the Australian air safety regulator) to start flights to Melbourne and will instead use the aircraft to Europe by the end of the month if approval still isn't given. First they need to get HS-THB back in the air which still hasn't re-entered service after its incident! www.bangkokpost.com/news/transport/1109045/thai-airways-a350-launch-in-limbo

What a soap. From the article: How do they mean "unfamiliar", QR flies A350s into Australia? QRs have better carpet, so they are ok !
