He is an observation. Normally the same Emirates airframe flies out on a flt number and flies back on the next sequential number eg: today A6-EDL flew UAE97/UAE98. Since Emirates introduced the extra JFK flight UAE207 on 8th March 2015 that has changed on two of the JFK routes. On 8 March A6-EDA flew out to JFK as UAE201 but returned as UAE208. Same day A6-EEM flew to JFK as UAE207 but returned as UAE202. Another example: 16 March Flightradar24/A6-EDZ/UAE201 FR24/A6-EDZ /UAE20817 March Flightradar24/A6EDP/UAE207 FR24/A6-EDP/UAE202 |

According to airliners.net EK will start 6th daily a380 flight to LHR and 5th daily flight to JFK (via LHR):
"Effective September 15, EK will launch its 5th daily flight to JFK from DXB utilizing the A380. This flight will make a stopover in LHR and they have received fifth freedom rights between LHR-JFK-LHR.
DXB-LHR 0430 0900 EK 209
LHR-JFK 1100 1335 EK 209
JFK-LHR 1800 0555 EK 210
LHR-DXB 0755 1755 EK 210
President and CEO Tim Clark said on an interview with the DailyMail today, this new flight to JFK will strengthen our New York operations to 5 daily flights and our transatlantic presence, but above all, it's a direct attack to the Big 3 US airlines, especially Delta."

I would be one likely to believe it, they did it with Italy why wouldn't they do it through the UK?.... The start date is well chosen as the announced A380_destination that would start last is DXB-MAD on 01/08 and the delivery of MSN184 would help open it, so the delivery of MSN186 and MSN187 (probably during Summer?) could easily help open that -LHR-JFK.
However, it seems indeed the April's fool is clearly showed by the last sentence, I don't think Tim Clark would ever speak like that...

According to there website, it's confirmed. Double daily is set to start from 1st October 2015.

Starting 01/06/15 EK 015/016 to LGW will get the A380.
This flight has temporary the A380 from 01/04/15 till 20/04/15
