Canon is rumoured to release the competing Powershot SX60 HS soon. It's supposed to have a zoom of at least 60x and possibly 100x based on a patent application. Not sure about Nikon, but what I really love about the Canon Powershot series is that you can take shots in RAW format for better image processing later.

Personally, I think I want to step up to a DSLR next.
