lets see how close they get to 50. although i have no idea how many new engines have been delivered the testing and delivery is still going pretty slowly.I vaguely recall posts about delivery of the CFM frames. do you think these will be delivered at a faster ate that the P&W frames? o rit' still a waiting game considering most of the completed frames are waiting for the GTF?
Pratt planned to deliver 200 GTF engines in 2016, the bulk being in the second half of the year. That's 100 aircraft, including 15 CSeries and 2 or 3 engines for the Comac C919. There may be some other test engines too.
That leaves engines for some 70-80 A320neo's, but not all will be delivered in 2016 (engine deliveries in December are meant for aircraft deliveries in January/February). Then we have the LEAP engine. CFM says 6 customers will receive A320s with LEAP engines this year. I think it's fair to assume each customer will get at least 2 aircraft, making 12 A320neo deliveries with CFM engines. There will probably be a few more.
I think 70 deliveries is a good bet, unless there are other engines issues we do not know about.
As for "things are still going slowly", I have to disagree. Production frame activity has increased significantly since July (start of second half of the year):
- Pegasus 1st A320neo first flight & delivery
- Another Pegasus A320neo got its engines intalled
- IndiGo 5th A320neo already flying
- Another IndiGo A320neo spotted with engines
- Lufthansa's 3rd A320neo already flying & delivery this month
- Lufthansa's 4th A320neo spotted with engines
- China Southern 1st A320neo first flight
- Frontier 1st A320neo first flight
- One of the QR frames was seen online at FR24, may have engines installed
- First LATAM A320neo spotted with engines and did taxi tests
This all within 1 month, that's a lot of NEO activity. In the first half of 2016 we had like 1 or 2 production frame activities per month. So we are now seeing a significant increase of activity around the production frames. Airbus also added that production is 'back on track'.
It usually takes another month before these aircraft hit the delivery stream so August may be pretty good regarding deliveries.
