MSN 225 is an HOV, it's the first EK frame with RR engines. It's not just a case of putting RR engines on, the pylons are different the engine management systems are different the electronic control systems are different etc etc ..... Of course, but the A388/Trent 900 combination is by no means a new one, and most HOVs have been transferred to XFW on their first flight ! There could be any trivial reason for a delayed transfer. For instance, some hangars are being reassigned from the A380 programme to the A320 family, probably requiring some work. Is it a stretch to imagine that the XFW teams may have preferred to delay the transfer by a few days ? It is fun to speculate !
