And the CORGO planes are competing with this ! The speed of delivery of those containers is impressive - they might make it a week door - door EU-NA, two weeks FarEAST-Asia any place on the globe. !!

The speed is not quite that impressive, especially if you talk door to door. I said "might"..... By accident I know timing Genoa-Casablanca in about 10 cases and it can be anything from 5 days to 2 weeks. OK add something for the custom etc. but still. Also I have a friend at DHL and I did ask once about average time the container is occupied i.e. dispatched from the depot to the shipping customer and returned to the depot somewhere after it was unloaded at the receiving customer and it is about 3 weeks world wide. So trust me it is very tough competition for the CARGO planes. Actually those are competitive only for small shipment - you do not want to ship the whole container or you hurry a LOT or it would not fit into one CONTAINER or the price of transportation is negligible to the price of the goods - insurance etc.... To ship just a palette is theoretically (well practically too but...) possible but cost usually at least 70% of the full container (and might be even more expensive - when you add all the port handling fees) with all the risks involved. Just consider the pricing - 20ft container is about 1000-3000 USD depending on destination - the average is closer to the lower limit. 40 ft is only slightly more expensive not 2x maybe 30-40% more. And how much is 1 kg of CARGO ? We might discuss but it is for sure going to be NORTH of 6 USD / kg - might be much more to the "NORTH"...... You can have 30 000 kg in a 20 ft container - and how much you have to ship to be cheaper ? 200 kg might be more than enough !!!

So is this Ryanair's seagoing division using "Finki" as it's base?
