According to the following article, Delta will operate the JNB flights as ATL-JNB-CPT-ATL thepointsguy.com/news/delta-cape-town-johannesburg-south-africa-airbus-a350/For me this makes sense. According to Wikipedia (best source I know haha) JNB is at 5500ft elevation with a 4.4KM runway. Looking at Airbus's airport planning charts, it shows that at ISA conditions, the A359 can only takeoff from a 4.4KM runway at 6000ft elevation, with around a 270T MTOW ( I acknowledge that this is 6000ft elevation vs the 5500ft of JNB, and that that chart is only a rough indication). Given the length of the route, I'm not sure that the 270T mtow (or less given temperature) is enough for a descent payload.

According to ATDB all 4 LATAM a350-900 (msn 64, 265, 282 and 313) stored in CNF (returned from lease to QR) will be delivered to Delta AL in july 2020.

seat guru shows a 33 seat difference between LATAM and Delta A359s. any ideas if these frames will be retrofitted to have matching/ similar seat capacities.
