Although I'm hoping for the order, I believe Airbus needs to be more careful about this. Otherwise, the same story happened to HA might happen again. If you look carefully with at the MH fleet, all the A350s are leased from ALC and a decent amount of A330 fleet is also leased. They can switch side without too much trouble if the new orders are for replacing the leased ones.

They can switch side without too much trouble if the new orders are for replacing the leased ones. Such leases are long-term (twelve to fifteen years, probably). Lessors aren't going to accept any aircraft back.

Only two ex-SAS frames now are available, could Airbus turn the two prototype into operation (003 & 004) if they are in such a high demand?

If Malaysia AL give good price for 2 ex-SAS frames on auction 6 july 2023 and remaining two maybe 2 -ex SAA frames (msn 226 and 245) leased from Avolon. If LH won't take these 2 ex-SAA frames (currently not listed on european airlines page site already sites.google.com/view/europeanairlinefleets/dlh/lhdlh) than Malaysia may lease both from Avolon.
