Interesting how they are already assembling this aircraft even though its type hasn't been certified yet.

Airbus takes a degree of risk to speed up the delivery flow, as Boeing did with the 789. I imagine Airbus bets any unexpected problem would likely be engine-related, since the engine is the less well-known feature of this derivative.

Well, if not we'll almost see a year or more between certification and first delivery

Might be that they are sure all is OK - the engine is just upgrade - basically the same engine - the differences in the frame are not that big ......

I find the Tail quite small, comparing to the length of the frame, isn't it?..........

This is why the 747SP has had a big tail, now reused for the Dreamlifter btw.
