This is Airbus' first sizable order this year. The customer probably couldn't/wouldn't wait until the Paris airshow to disclose it.

As expected, the A350 ramp up weighs heavily on Airbus' financial results. Of course, at this point in the learning curve, the aircraft is sold at a loss. "The Airbus planemaking business saw 31 percent lower profit despite a 13 percent rise in revenues. I believe the two aircraft mentioned here were originally CIT order, because Avolon acquired CIT aircraft leasing asset last year, they quoted it as Avolon order.
Airbus website still showing CIT and Avolon separately, and there is no direct A350 order from Avolon so far.
By the way, Avolon now belongs to the Chinese Hainan Airlines Group, who also owns Tianjin Airlines.
