It's a shame that they are not decorating their aircraft with Taiwanese birds any more. I like the Mikado pheasant on their first A350.

I have not heard anything about them not decorating their aircraft anymore. It would be disappointing if they didn't do it eventually. The current situation is they are desperately short of aircraft. From a financial aspect getting the A340 and B747 off long haul routes has been pretty urgent.
Also CI has their B777's up for first C check's plus half of their A330's are going in for cabin upgrade. So lets hope its just been delayed. With their latest announcements of having SYD going double daily from 1st of December as well as LGW I would still see all their planes being fully utilised.
That might also explain why SYD dropped its SYD-AKL-SYD route as that would have taken 3/4 A350's to have serviced that routing. Cutting off AKL would bring it back to just 2 A350 frames.
