There are now only 9 frames in XFW. In former years there were seldom less than 11 frames in XFW at any time. As I understand it there are 6 outfitting hangars, two paint bays, two fligtline hangars and two extra hangars, use undefined. With the outfitting and painting hangers, it should be possible to work on 8 birds a the same time. What is happening? XFW more efficient? Or production slowing down, with fewer birds coming for outfitting from TLS?

I don't think the factories could be affected by any planned production slow down before TLS begins to receive fewer convoys. Next year, however, the factories should be 'starving' ... For the moment, I think production is improving, and Airbus finds it more easy to meet delivery deadlines. Unlike the last few years, I do not expect any pronounced year-end scramble this year.

As nearly all frames to be delivered this year are or have been already in XFW, I do not talk about delivery slowdown this year. Convoys show already a slow down with 30 convoys hardly possible this year. As there are 10 to 11 frames still to be delivered this year, the usual end of year scramble is assured.

Actually I count only 8 frames set for this year,
5 EK (MSN200 MSN201 MSN202 MSN203 MSN204), 1 BA (MSN192), 1 QR (MSN189), and 1 EY (MSN191),...
I think Airbus got some nice experience with the OF and was even able to break records (just 9 weeks OF+painting for MSN151BA), it took some time but eventually reached good results in term of timing.

I expect more EK frames still to be delivered this year. Even MSN 206 could still make it. 8 more frames delivered would cut the number down to 27 this year.

That's about it, I think Airbus said lately that deliveries would be 'less than 30'.... There would be a few that could still make it this year indeed, but it depends if airlines are ready to take more than planned?....

The absence of MSN 167, 185 and 196 would give us 27 deliveries.
