The A380s fate depends on it.

Didn't know that RR only did a simulation for the blade out test on the XWB. Nice to see some good progress on the UltraFan work. RR has been quite generous in sharing many details of their future and upcoming projects with the industry media. This is kind of the polar opposite of GE, who have been quite tight-lipped about their development work. Pratt have been somewhere in the middle but have been out of the picture lately as much of the news is about them tackling existing engine issues.

Ultrafan is a strong possibility on any new A320neo and 737MAX replacements but obviously not going to be on the NMA. I think the market for such aircraft will be large enough to field 3 engine options from CFM, PW and RR. But my question is, if CFM will surrender their exclusivity on the Boeing platform they had for decades and be willing to take a heavy hit in market share. Or will they buy out Boeing again?

Baroque, we are of the same though regarding CFM monopoly on the 737. That's why i only asked about the 320. business is business anyhow, let's see what Roll Royce offers and a what the customers ask for. there is a business quote about having a better mousetrap. time will tell..
