Dear All Firstly I'd like to thank you all for the interesting topics & info you cover on this (& the past forum) & especially the superb photos/videos - many thanks especially to Fabian for a stellar effort in relaunching the forum... Secondly - unfortunately I cannot see the Kingfisher order surviving www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21578388 Hopefully someone else will pick up the 5 planes! Can't wait to see #100 delivered! Brilliant!

Can't see them being allocated yet, maybe Emirates could pick up those 5 frames as they say they need more. Time will tell.

Kingfisher's orders (A330s, A380s, narrowbodies) are still included in Airbus' backlog because the airline still officially exists, and it is not for Airbus to pronounce a customer dead, especially if they have received part payments for undelivered frames. Airbus has to wait for the end of legal proceedings.
On the other hand, Kingfisher may still have a (small) chance of finding a buyer among companies interested in entering the Indian market. This might happen if creditors accepted to void the debt in return for a minority stake in the company. I am not sure that this can work, though. If however Kingfisher is somehow revived, Airbus may be part of the solution and thus manage to save part of existing orders.

Is there a secondary market for purchased slots? Like say if Kingfisher made deposit payments, can they sell it to another interested buyer to recover some money?

Their A380s (and A350s) are finally cancelled.

Kingfisher's slim hopes of a revival are tied to a possible purchase by new investors. The usual deal is that debtors agree to shed their shaky rights in return for a (small) fraction of the new stock (better lose 80 % than 100 %).
The advantage over the creation of a new company would be that Kingfisher already has an operating certificate, an established brand (though this is double-edged) and some orders helping to re-build a fleet. As realistic prospects would be to undertake only regional operations, the A380 and A350 orders were more a hindrance than a help. Their cancellation is therefore welcome. Conversely, existing A320 and A330 orders are probably useful.
I would not bet on a revival, though ...
EDIT : I see no reason to keep this thread alive anymore : there are no more Kingfisher A380s to talk about ...
