The above would be the area, that I suspect could be responsible for delays in ACF fuselage production, as this automated A320 structure assembly line was supposed to be running quite a bit earlier, AFAIK last year already. I agree with you, the problems Airbus met when trying to put this new tool into service may well be the main cause ot the delays. Let's hope that the inauguration means that Airbus has left these problems behind.

I still think "a lot" but not all of the problems with the ACF has to be interior parts / works, they keep rolling them out with engines and painted, then tape them up and park them for 6 - 10 weeks before finishing them off ?

I wonder why you claim there is a special ACF issue. Non ACFs do the same thing, even CEOs.

Airbus has stated in some releases, and Airbus representatives (among which Tom Williams) have explained in interviews, that moving from the traditional A321 fuselage to the ACF fuselage has added a lot of complexity that has translated into delivery delays. That piece of information also came up in some investor updates. I think that the wiring was one aspect of the problem, but I'm not quite sure. Stealthmanbob, you noticed that cabin equipments seemed to be part of the problem, and they are indeed. Airbus explained that increased cabin customisation was one of the sources of additional complexity, and pointed out to the large number of heads of version that had to be produced. I think we discussed it, but I don't remember in which thread.

The reality check shows that there more general issue Airbus does not talk about.

Have you guys have seen this cool webcam? Its basically right across the river from Airbus. Here you can see the Emirates A380 that just got back from a Test Flight and beluga #5 taxing on the runway. The Webcam is always changing directions but pretty much every minute goes to the same place - www.hafen-hamburg.de/en/webcam/teufelsbrueck
