Actually, EK414 only goes to SYD. It doesn't continue to AKL. I know, pedant of the week! Sorry!

I wonder if there is any fresh or strange smell on board a brand new a/c.. Not really tbh. It's just soo fresh. I think unless you were as interested in planes like the guys in this forum or a frequent treveller you wouldn't note it. Some might note it when looking at the overhead lockers. And I guess that the crew will be saying before the safety instructions that or during the flight that the plane was only delivered a few days ago.

I travelled in MSN 009 on its third day in commercial service, it smelt like a new car. The door surrounds, and the rubber mats in the door entrances were so pristine, it was clear it was all fresh from the factory.

EEP returned to service on January 20 to Bangkok, having been in the hangar at DXB since December 23. Not sure of she had the cabin upgrade as a standalone, but Emirates says it can be done in 21 days.

A6-EEP doesn`t have the cabin upgraded with Premium Economy. It was just a regular maintenance period.

Surprised that EEP didn't fly to another place for maintenance. I thought DXB's maint is at full capacity right now?
