Ready to fly the flag! Boris Johnson's RAF Voyager plane takes to the air after its new £900,000 patriotic red, white and blue colour scheme is unveiled for the first time www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8459719/Boris-Johnsons-RAF-Voyager-plane-takes-air-new-900-000-patriotic-paint-job.html - RAF Voyager took off from Cambridge City Airport on Thursday afternoon after getting a £900,000 paint job - Jet's tail fin was spotted on Wednesday afternoon, with people claiming it looks like a British Airways plane - Ministers hope design - which is much more visible than the usual military grey - will help boost 'Brand Britain'
- But critics have mocked project as expensive folly that will make Mr Johnson look like Austin Powers on tour
Well it shows that the UK still remembers how to paint a plane! ( ). Whether it can target a long-haul, carbon-neutral build and market is another matter.

The cost to paint a 777 is somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 USD. The cost to paint a 747 averages 200,000 USD. 900,000 pounds for an A330 ?? ?? What a bunch of idiots.

Most of the £900,000 was communication equipment and interior work, that's why it went to Marshalls in Cambridge and not just a bog standard paint shop 😉

The aircraft is not BoJo One, it was and still is the RAF VIP aircraft for transporting who ever it needs to including the current PM and also the Royal Family on state visits etc. It went to CBG on 9th June and back to Brize on 25th June, Marshalls are a defence firm so it was not there just for painting ! It's also still a Tanker and went up the day after re-delivery to test refuel with F35s and Typhoons to make sure the paint job did not cause any problems !

They are easier to see in this colour scheme than on the normal grey scheme.
