What should be the logic to cancel the A350 because of size, but keeping the 777-9 and 777-8 orders?

What should be the logic to cancel the A350 because of size, but keeping the 777-9 and 777-8 orders? I was wondering about this as well. We started to hear that EY may want to get rid of 777X, but no additional news come out after initial Bloomberg news. As contrast, a lot more story about cancelling A350 is just weird to me ........ |

What should be the logic to cancel the A350 because of size, but keeping the 777-9 and 777-8 orders? We don't know EY's stand. They may well wish to cancel both A350 and 778/9 orders. Nothing reliable has actually transpired so far. Let's also not forget the political aspect - I would expect the UAE to make a relatively balanced decision. |

Macheras now has a seemingly different view of the EY A350 situation. He says that the first A35K for EY is following the normal industrial process, as per planning.

Looks like EK will take 30 ex-etihad a350 slots. Only 12 slots remain. Talks with Etihad are underway:

There needs to be some clarification on this still. Only 40 -900s in the orderbook for EY. Will become clear whether they have also cancelled 2 -1000s or if they retain 22 on order. Should mean that MSN 290 gets delivered. Geoff |
