Interesting, even Airbus themselves look at it as the 1st ULR.... I changed the title of the thread accordingly. The wording of Airbus' press release is especially ambiguous and, in my opinion, contradictory and misleading. We don't have to call 'first' what is actually going to be 'fifth'. "The first Ultra Long Range Airbus A350 XWB to be delivered to launch customer Singapore Airlines has rolled out of the paintshop in the carrier’s distinctive livery. Now at an advanced stage of production, the aircraft will undergo further testing before being delivered to the airline in the coming months".

Video of the aircraft being painted A small observation; Whilst Airbus has ceased to use their 'circle' logo for a while now ( This is what I'm talking about), it's sad to see the logo finally disappearing on production aircraft next to the name of the aircraft (In SQ's case, it's located below the beginning of the cheat line). Even the 5 new SQ A380s recently delivered had them. I liked that logo

I'm always fascinated by the hand-painting at the end. Does anyone know how many spots are on average required to be touched up and is it really something that can't be noticed? It suprizes me that with all the technology there is clearly a difficulty in paint boundary lines.

I am always intrigued by that touching up too...I always think.. the Airplanes are so high, who will see that the edges aren't not perfectly straight..especially form the tarmac...
