"Air Mauritius (MK, Mauritius) has outlined its early A330-900 deployment plans ahead of the delivery of two aircraft of the type from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) in September and October of this year. The two jets, on lease from Air Lease Corporation, will replace two A340-300s whose leases will expire in November and December 2018.
According to ch-aviation analysis of schedule data, the Indian Ocean carrier intends to deploy its A330neo into service from November 1 on flights to each of St. Denis de la Réunion (2x weekly), Antananarivo (1x weekly), Geneva (1x weekly), Delhi Int'l (1x weekly), Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok (1x weekly), and Shanghai Pudong (1x weekly).
The type will also run a 2x weekly service to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo from December 14 alongside a weekly service to Perth Int'l.
Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 motors, the A330neo will be configured with 291 seats with 28 in Business Class and 263 in Economy Class.
As part of its fleet renewal and growth plans, Air Mauritius is replacing its A340-300 fleet with A330neo as well as with six A350-900s of which two have already delivered on lease from AerCap. A further two are due in 2019 while the remaining pair is now expected in 2023."
