ff sorry I thought you were only talking about A350 deliveries. As for Boeing deliveries I'm not that familiar. But I believe the general pattern is: -if the frame is leased (through leasing firms of CALC, BOC, ICBC, etc), it will clear Chinese custom at TSN -if the frame is bought (though could be financed through banks), it will clear Chinese custom at PEK or wherever the frame is based. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong 😊

This is going off-topic but: Air China only began to take Boeing deliveries through Tianjin this year. Before only one or two a year, the rest direct Beijing, sometimes Chongqing or Dalian. I know CA Dalian run independently (even has their own livery), that's probably why they directly fly to Dalian. Not sure about CA Chongqing.

I could be wrong, I don’t watch deliveries all the time, I really don’t have the time. But I believe CA’s Boeing fleet do not go vis TSN. They normally go straight to PEK or Chengdu, A350 deliveries might be a new practice for CA. Am I right? Msn's 60899 and 60903, 737-8's and msn 65301, a 777-300ER, flew to Tianjin in August and November.
