I wonder why A220"s seem to need so many test flights before delivery? a380.boards.net/post/121575It's related to Canadian laws/rules when it comes to new/experimental aircraft. In the future Airbus plans to register new-builts (from Canada) in France (just like the Alabama built A32x's). The story is somewhere on the net but I can't find it.

I wonder why A220"s seem to need so many test flights before delivery? Because few of them have been built and they are still at an early stage of the learning curve ?

I find this somewhat akin to a "nimby" response. Then again, i am not rhere so i can not verify what they are hearing..when its not one thing its another...

So bring in some Tu-134 for regional flights then. Fans will love them, win win. That will teach them.

Some strange reactions from some posters.
The A220 is advertised as frame producing little noise. If that frame produces more than the expected noise or noise that did not appear while test flying, the way forward is not to talk about some nimby reaction, but to get rid of the noise according to promised numbers. If it is a noise that some engines produce under certain thrust conditions on landing, than the way forward would be perhaps to tweak the FADEC to get into the way of this conditions.
If the A220 will produce more noise than anticipated or promised, it will be a killer. It can have a big influence on landing fees on noise sensitive airports or that some airports will not open up to them.
We have seen it with the whistling A320, not a big problem to remove that noise, far to late done.

Not easy to spot some sarcasm isn't it?

Not easy to spot some sarcasm isn't it? I assumed that you made a joke, but there were also some posters before your comment.

If you are talking about my reply remember that the people that live near the Airport aren't likely aviation experts. Often they like to complain without knowing what actually is going on, irrelevant of the engine noise or not. Thats why I made that joke
