So the A220 must be one of the quietest jets money can buy. Now people don't complain about the noise level but about the sounds they don't like. That's a bit over the top isn't it? And then you have Zürich that traditionally "exports" it's approach noise to southern Germany next door because of the high mountains in Switzerland.

I assumed that you made a joke, but there were also some posters before your comment. If you are talking about my reply remember that the people that live near the Airport aren't likely aviation experts. Often they like to complain without knowing what actually is going on, irrelevant of the engine noise or not. Thats why I made that joke I live near an airport under the flight path 2 km from the threshold. I hear when an aircraft is landing and if it is something new. A strange intermittent noise can be prominent even if it is not that laud. But that is not the main point. People around airports have influence, the A220 should be especially low noise and thought to be aloud where other jets not dare to tread. The reflexive, that is just a Nimby reaction, is not always helpful.
