Boeing PR seems to still suggests EK still has 778 on order (see my EK's 777X post) Boeing PR . . . Uhm. Yeah, sure. Okay.

I would say, that Etihad has decided to take only 6 777X, all 777-9 I assume, but the cancellation with Boeing is not finalized. We can compare Delta's and Aeroflot's 787 orders, how long it took them to leave the books. Or that we all new that we would see the removal of 39 A380 frames from Airbus books, but the deal between Airbus and Emirates "how to" took a while. For me the 19 777X orders are gone, just the books do not know it yet. We must remember that EY officially stated a few months ago that they had agreements with both Airbus and Boeing not to disclose the details of the changes. We can imagine any carefully worded agreement that would allow EY to consider these 19 77X as cancelled, while Boeing would be entitled to keep them on its books for the time being. For instance, I could imagine a contract amendment stating that delivery of these aircraft is delayed until some point in time (-> the orders still exist), at which EY will have the option either to negotiate a new delivery schedule or to cancel the orders at the cost of a very small penalty (-> EY already considers them as gone). Altogether, I would say Mjoelnir is right for all practical purposes, unless of course EY manages an unexpected recovery ...

No changes with etihad 777X orders on boeing website. Still 25 orders - no reduction to only 6 777X orders as earlier was said on Dubai Airshow.

Which however is not clarifying the situation (see my previous post above). I think both Boeing and EY prefer to keep this subject in the shade for the time being.
