Pretty simple. Go full throttle and don't retract them. I have been told that's not possible, it's protected, but who knows. It may have been a wing strike then ? It will all come out in the wash 😉 It is kind of peculiar. I've always been used to hearing Airbus's flight protection systems under normal circumstances prevent the pilots from accidentally pulling manoeuvres that might cause structural damage. Seems like the pilots did just that here. No protection for this?

Wow how do you damage the flaps doing a go around ? Most probably, after an overspeed (for the selected flap setting) a check had to be performed. That the aircraft was immediately returned to service suggests no dammage was found.
