I'll wait for European and UK authorities' views and even then prefer the wider Airbus narrow-body fuselage.

We can read from time to time online that the government would lift the restriction by December ( =2020 ), but knowing that government I wouldn't be surprised if it stays grounded by another year or two.

' Robert Kokonis, president of Toronto-based consulting firm AirTrav Inc., said that based on conversations he has had with people at Transport Canada, he expected a decision on the Max before the end of this year.
Once the plane is approved to fly in Canada, Kokonis said, it would be up to the airlines to sell the public on its increased safety features, but he added that he expected consumers to shed any reservations they may have about flying on the Max after about a year with no accidents.
“There’s been so much oversight of this aircraft, it will likely end up being the safest aircraft in the history of commercial aviation,” Kokonis said. “On that basis, I would not hesitate to get on board that aircraft as soon as it’s rolled back out into service again.”'
Oh really Robert. Please do divulge how it can be demonstrated that ' it (B737Max) will likely end up being the safest aircraft in the history of commercial aviation' ...but there again he probably has a vested interest

It will be really interesting to watch the flying public. Will they be hesitant? Will they try to avoid the MAX? Will they just not care about it? Remains to be seen. From my view airlines should actively inform their customers about the progress and changes and set things straight in public perception. That must be more than propaganda.

For me the interesting thing will be, if the ungrounding has an influence on orders and stops the row of cancellations.
