Yeah really don't think this is going to the Govt. It's odd how the others got the German flag on the winglets while in primer but this one is all white. And this guy whose photos very ofter appear on this forum answers "private" when asked if German Govt or Private: www.flickr.com/photos/aircrafts/50645576036/I'm sure he knows his stuff, being a local. Hell, the callsign for its first engine run and taxi check was "C8J31ER2". Notice the first three letters/digits. Not DLH or AIB something like the first and supposedly third German Air Force, but C8J.

Maybe they will have a different state livery and don't want to spill the news early on?
Given these are the real VVIP configured aircraft with full head of state cabin and not the early originally "Lufthansa" earmarked ones that need to be refurbished later?

That would be a strange thing to do. If you want to show a different livery, they could have done that with the first. Who cares who the aircraft is converted by? But by that logic the third should not have the German flag winglets then. If that is not going to change, why not paint it on the second too? They will all fly the same missions after all. I doubt this fanfare with a new livery and such will go over well with the public, especially in these virus times... Look at my pimped up ride! Jealous yet?

AFAIK the first one delivered will be more for general use. No. 2 and No. 3 will be mainly VVIP. Im Germany President, Chancellor and Foreign Minister are the typical users that travel with big delegations in the back. Otherwise today everybody might prefer a quieter approach. They have a choice from Globals to ACJ319 and A400Ms.
All can be converted to ambulance use.

I read a while back that the plan was to rush the first one into service with very minor VIP amendments then when no 2 and 3 are delivered fully configured then no. 1 would get refitted so all 3 end up the same.

stealthmanbob, I also did read the same thing quite sometime ago. what I understood from whatever media i read, they want to have something now to replace the old airframes that kept breaking down / needing maintenance. especially after the German Chancellor I think was left stranded or had to change plans very last minute.
