Didn't it raise the gear at all? Boeing has been sort of "shy" about inflight pictures until now. Possibly they don't retract the gear during first flights but Airbus does.
We don't know what they were testing. Same as Airbus. We can't really compare anything. All we know is that its standard to have it lowered at the beginning when your first testing out the flight envelope in case of hydraulic failure and/or emergency.
I totally pointed this out after it landed on Saturday. I'm used to seeing at Airbus that they have at least a jumpsuit on etc on maiden Flights of a new Aircraft Type. Obviously I don't know the specifics in this case, but yeah I agree, a bit strange for sure.
