If it had been chopped up I am sure there would be pictures ! It will take a long time to strip it out properly to get the best return for the parts. I hope they mean it WILL be dismantled ?

Aircraft dismantling definition: "The process comprising all the activities required to make it possible to recycle materials from an aircraft." Aircraft disassembly definition: "The process comprising all the activities required to remove all the valuable components from an aircraft, which can be re-used in another aircraft." The latter meaning "Chopping up" - "The Axe".

I was referring to the quote in FabienA380 post that said "The first Airbus A380 has been dismantled"Has means already done

I was referring to the quote in FabienA380 post that said "The first Airbus A380 has been dismantled"Has means already done And I suppose that would be correct, it likely means fuel- and hydraulic lines have been cleaned or even removed to prevent fire from sparks or damage from the hydraulic liquids when re-useable parts are removed (and finally the Axe-man comes 'round).

I was referring to the quote in FabienA380 post that said "The first Airbus A380 has been dismantled"Has means already done I agree with you, there is nothing new in this story, which is just recycling information from the Dr Peters Group release quoted upthread. There is not even any mention of a place where the process would have been performed. So, in all likeliness, either the aircraft is still stored, or the work is in process somewhere.

The Guernsey registration 2-DRPA was cancelled late November. Has it been scrapped or are there any (very) recent sightings?

The Guernsey registration 2-DRPA was cancelled late November. If an aircraft is not flying anywhere, then no registration is needed.
