SKE seems to have been retired from service. She did her last registered service on April 23 from Hong Kong. Singapore confirmed in its FY2017/18 press release on may 17 that it would retire one more A380 from service.

A check/maintenance test flight yesterday www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/9v-ske#1daf7b26I said in June if it's really confirmed a 2nd A380 for Hifly my guess is it would come from Doric's portfolio MSN 003, 005, 008 (ex. 9V-SKD) and 010 are from Dr. Peters Group funds (DS Aviation GmbH) and go to Tarbes. Months ago there was negotiations between Dr.Peters and Hifly but they didnt reach an agreement MSN 006 (9V-SKC) goes to HiFly and belongs to funds managed by another company, Doric Asset Finance. If there is a 2º A380 for Hifly in the future almost certainly will came from Doric's portfolio. But contrary to what I said about MSN 010 (because of this article from Flightglobal) the 010 (9V-SKE/SQ #5) belongs to Doric, so it can be a good candidate for the 2nd Hifly A380, let's follow this frame situation in the coming months MSN 001 Airbus
002 Airbus
003 DS Aviation 9V-SKA Stored, Tarbes Lourdes Jun 2017
004 Airbus
005 DS Aviation 9V-SKB Stored, Tarbes Lourdes Feb 2018
006 Doric 9V-SKC 9H-MIP Hifly, in service
007 Airbus
008 DS Aviation 9V-SKD Stored, Tarbes Lourdes Jun 2018
009 Airbus
010 Doric 9V-SKE Maintenance test flights 30 Aug 2018 to return lessor On a side and curious note, Rolls-Royce engines from 003, 005 and 008 belongs to Doric too www.doric.com/en/about-us/assets-under-management/

At the Hi Fly press conference in Farnborough on July 19 I asked Mirpuri and Doric about the second A380 in the Hi Fly fleet. They replied that SKC/003 will be the sole in the fleet until April/May 2019 and denied that anything had been signed on SKD or any other frame. Which could all have been blabla and makes you wonder why SKE has been flying on August 30 in the first place.

Couldn't it be just a contract requirement that they prove that any of the leased aircraft is practically operational when returned to the lessor regardless of what happens afterwards with it? So a test flight would not indicate an imminent second use. Or the legal owner (Leasing company, bank, fund, subdivision etc.) changes behind the scenes and demands a check flight?

Yes, it' part of the contracts a maintance check before return them to lessor, and that involves test flights.
I called attention to this one not because of the test flight but because it's the 2nd from Doric.
All retired SK A380 made some test flights, 9V-SKA, 9V-SKB and 9V-SKD, before going to Tarbes, although I think 9V-SKC did more and took longer before the flight to Malta for Hifly. Maybe someone with a premium paid APP can check the flights archive of these models.
Anyway, it seems logical that Hifly wait to see how the low season runs with the first A380.
