S*** II
I tried to quote, but the buttons are on top instead of bottom! And I have to search! Let's kick that ugly MS-windows-style and get back to USENET qualities which brought us the true functionimg rules in the NET since beginning.

I do like the 'like' button! Linie 9, I'm sure we'll all get used to the new button's places pretty soon...... I think even if everything is not exactly like previously, it can only be an improvement?..... Fabien

hi Everybody! Sorry, I am just realising now that I should somehow apologise, I am realising now that it may have been better to warn Everybody of the upgrade to the new version proposed by our Forum-Providers. While I understand it might be a little different form the early ".boards.net" forum we've been used to since 2 weeks, it certainly will be an improvement. It seems to me that we should thank our Forum-Providers for always trying to improve the way we can 'forum'. Also, while I know that 'changes' always may lead to some confusion and disorientation, it surely needs a pretty short time to get used to new dispositions. Thanks everybody for your patience and new discovering......... this is quite new to me as well, and I surely miss the old-new-forum configuration... Please feel free anyways always, to share your thoughts, agreements and disagreements.... Just as a reminder, for those who were with us already back in the years (registered members or "simple" readers), Oliver's early 2009-forum got an upgrade about "half-a year" later and everybody at the time was seemingly feeling bad about it, but eventually everyone found a way to get used to it pretty quickly. I would like on this oiccasion to thank everybody to daily post here on the forum, thanks to everyone sharing, thanks to everyone joining us again from the 'old'-forum, and thanks to anyone joining us since the transition old/new forum. Just about me, though I have been Oliver's (old forum)-sole moderator since mid-2009, I am still always trying to put every effort and good thoughts I can in 'our forum' up, though it wasn't my 'main occupation'. (I was a firefighter/soldier for about ten years previously...)... a380.boards.net/thread/352/who Let's get our A380-info get through the way we can! Kind Regards Fabien

Hi Fabien, everything is fine! I would like to ask you something, well it's a little bit difficult and I really hope, that you don't missunderstand. After the disaster with the old forum, you were the only person, who had the motivation to create a new, a better on. You know, for us it is perfect and very easy, because we just have to spend words on it. I'm sure you additionally spend money and that seems not fair to me. So, what I want to say is, if you need financial support, please feel free to ask! Cheers TP1

Hi Fabien,
First of all, I wish to thank you for all the effort you are putting into the forum. As I mentioned in one of the other threads, I do feel this new forum is more of a joint effort compared to the old one - yet it wouldn't be here without you.
I also subscribe to TP1's comment that if there is a need for financial support, let us know.
Now, about the latest update of the forum itself, there are two things I dislike... Maybe there is something that can be done about this, if other users share this feeling.
1. I dislike the fact that the different pages (<<Prev>>, 1, 2, <<Next>> etc.) are displayed only at the top of the page. This means that after reading the last post of a certain page, you need to scroll back up to the top in order to click the <<Next>> button to go the next page.
Is there a way around this or can this be set-up differently?
2. I also dislike that the "new" posts can only be found by going to the bottom of the first page and by selecting "Recent threads". Personally, I would prefer to have such a "button" at the top.
Maybe I am just whining, but maybe other users share my feelings...

I would prefer a blank avatar in case someone hasn't chosen one. I agree on that.

Hi Fabien - keep up the good work!
Being able to read all the info is the key to me & I thank you & all other contributors for that. Clearly software houses (IT engineers...& I know loads of them) like to change things (personally I still prefer keystrokes over dropdowns, the old style of tiling in windows from the 90s & hate what microsoft have done to excel in recent years! ;-) ). The forum provider will make changes from time to time, I guess it is up to us to make the forum work as well as we can within that framework. I did think that the Avatar looked like the Golden Child or Tripitaka out of monkey & agree a blank would be preferable if poss! As you say hopefully we'll all get used to the changes - is there a way to channel feedback to the forum proboards?
Cheers!

I'm obviously too stupid: I don't know where to click in the several lists to jump to the first unread post in a thread. The "new"-Button jumps to page 1 first post.

I right-click on the "new" button and select "open in new window" (or whatever it is in English, or in your case German I guess). It then usually opens at the new post - but it does not always seem to work in my browser (Chrome).
