As the United 777 incident is quite major, does it deserve its own thread rather than being in the MISC thread ? ca350

Since there is an emergency AD issued for PW4000 powered 777s as a direct result of this incident, I do think that this warrants its own thread for discussion.

Since there is an emergency AD issued for PW4000 powered 777s as a direct result of this incident, I do think that this warrants its own thread for discussion. Then better rename the thread to "PW4000 engine failures". The LongTail 747 that lost engine parts over The Netherlands a few hours earlier also has PW 4000 engines, maybe more to come ?? EDIT: And the UK has banned ALL PW-powered 777's, not just UA.
