According to the article you linked and some others I've seen, 3 A350s will come from lessors starting in 2017 as there are no manufacturing slots available until 2019. The other 4 will be purchases, I presume, by SriLankan Airlines and will be delivered from 2019 onward.

Hello together, Until now i was just following all the news here around the A350, but as i found this pic no where in the forum, i could not restist to make my first post here. A350 XWB’s MSN003 ?? aft fuselage Welcome aboard the doubledecker, bmw801. I think the frame in the picture is the static test specimen, MSN5000. You can see some external wiring on the fuselage.

You are perfectly right, it is MSN5000. Comparing with the first pic from XWB's post the same wiring is visible.

Seems like MSN5000 indeed. Where did you find this picture? Is there a bigger format so we can zoom in a bit?

I found that at Airbus.com in the Goodies gallery (1600x1200). And keep your focus on the center of the picture

I'm sure some of you may have seen this but I found this interesting to put it in here. A350 XWB is the first commercial aircraft capable of flying with total hydraulic failure. It's amazing how far we've come in terms of air safety. I hope we don't have to see another accident as a result of total hydraulics loss like the case of JAL123. Also to note, the A380 features some EHAs too that are used for some normal manoeuvers as well as for backup. These things no doubt came in handy during QF32 mishap when they lost 50% of available hydraulics according to the captain.
