Rumors claim that Lufthansa is considering to reactivate some of their existing parked A380s from 2022 including some that might be based at Munich. Not sure how serious and reliable this info is. Competitor Emirates had returned to MUC with A380 flights recently.
Maybe this is just some goodie to sweeten upcoming unionized pilot's pay and career negotiations as they had just miffed their pilots with lower paid CityLine pilots now flying A321P2F for "mainline" LH Cargo. Legacy A380 staff is said to get offered bonus payments for voluntary early retirement at the same time.
It would be quite good to see them bring back serious seat capacity into their long range network again. Looks like they have started to plan for growth again.

The article's author failed to mention the time taken to put the LH cabin into the 777. Unless if LH decide to use the existing cabin available on the aircraft.
They also fail to mention about the likelihood of availability of Swiss's and LH Cargo crews to fly those jets. It's peak summer season, which means crews maxed out. With cargo on very high demands, it's unlikely that those LH Cargo 777 pilots will be available to fly pax.

But I guess they could build some new PAX frames quite easily as they have stopped building B777-9s and putting them in storage ?

Indeed it's quite easy to build some new pax frames, but that'd take too long I reckon.

Didn't Swiss take more already? Swiss is fully LH owned. Those and freighters for LH Cargo will be a welcome compensation anytime.
