Interesting, new configuration will be F8 J78 W52 Y371 for a total of 509 seats. So will premium economy be spread across both decks, or will there be a small economy cabin at the back of upper deck?

Hm it's a bit weird. Lufthansa is currently installing the new J seat on all A380s resulting in 92 J seats instead of 98 current. That means within a year, they will already remove 14 of those new J seats.

Confusing indeed ... I suppose LH will use two different configurations.

That means within a year, they will already remove 14 of those new J seats. Shouldn't be that much hassle. Lufthansa has traditionally removed some C seats in several of their planes for a short period during the summer holiday, so thus should be a minor job. It is more interesting to see the new configuration with both C and Y reduced. This mean there will be changes both in first and second floor. So the question is whether premium economy will be split between the two, or there will be other changes, on where economy and business is placed

D-AIMA is back in service, it has the new J cabin and received the full wing modification in +- 7 weeks.

Is the cabin re-configuration paused during the busy summer season or is more aircraft currently getting the new C seats?

D-AIME is undergoing wing modification and probably cabin re-configuration as well.
