MNF had to divert to Manchester early morning on March 28 due to the storm, together with BA56/XLEC and SQ322/SKI. Only SQ departed with pax to LHR, XLEC flew back empty late afternoon. MNF stayed at MAN, as the crew must have run out of hours. Passengers had to stay on board for 5 hours, before being bussed to London. Two passengers on Twitter said a female passenger had deceased and was kept in her seat at the back of the cabin all the time. This report isn't confirmed. As a result MH3 was cancelled and Malaysia hit a lot of flak on social media. Not the best of days for them.

MNF left Manchester on March 29 at 1.49 pm local time as MH3D and went straight back to Kuala Lumpur. The whole saga shows the airlines operations are very fragile and don't allow for any unexpected situations.

MNF has been leased to Flynas for an unspecified period to fly hajj pilgrims to Mecca. On July 5 she did the first KL-Medina charter, flying back to KL later that same evening under Flynas callsign again. It makes Flynas the first Saudi user of the A380:
