I think TG dropped the A380 on the route just to spare frames for wing-repair purposes... those flights were still operated by some of their biggest jets (a 744)

LHR service was delayed due to the lack of available airframes (due to wing modification).

From thye press story linked to by Fabien : "Krittaphon Chantalitanon, VP aviation services support department, told Travel Daily he hopes the aircraft will be operating on the route from the end of the first six months of 2015, adding that the A380 was right for the route and not the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as the former has more seats".

Wow! After the return of the second daily SQ A380, now a second daily TG A380! Good for Narita! Now if only LH, AF, BA or the likes would send their whales back here...
