I was thinking this way before as well but lately in one of the documentaries (don't remember which one) it was said that a flight test or ferry flight is very demanding to pilots and crews, physically and mentally, and one crew could not (apparently) do two flight tests within the same day... So I think that what we thought being the same crew ferrying MSN141 to XFW on 08-10-2013, coming back with MSN124 XFW-TLS later on that day, were most likely then two different crews......  I don't know how tiring the average test or ferry flight is, but I do know that test pilots enjoy special, extremely favourable working hours and, more broadly, working rules. This is certainly the reason the same crew does not perform a return flight without a large break. Allowing myself to digress, I also had the opportunity to notice that test pilots sometimes behave like divas ... I posted this on the old forum, but some members reacted as if I that statement was a sacrilege ! |
