Shame. I wonder if this had anything to do with the CSeries issue.

Shame. I wonder if this had anything to do with the CSeries issue. Most probably. I would expect most improvements to the CSeries engine to be available to the A320neo. In that case, P&W should deliver updated engines to Airbus. Airbus should not complain : they are losing one month, not three months like BBD ...

Well, the original first flight schedule was Q4 (October) anyway.

I thought it was September. But anyway.
Can Airbus and BBD claim compensation from PW for causing the delays?
Also, what is the tech problem with the engine that means the delays are taking place?

Useful information about an upcoming production ramp up at Airbus is provided by "ladepeche.fr" (in French). www.ladepeche.fr/article/2014/09/11/1948986-airbus-prepare-une-forte-hausse-des-cadences-de-production.htmlThe story reports the message Airbus delivered to its suppliers at a forum at the Blagnac delivery center "last Monday" (I understand Monday, September 8th). The general line was that an increase in the pace of production would be carried out over the next few years. There was a clear warning that Airbus would use alternate sources if any present supplier could not meet Airbus' demands. An outlook was provided about A320/A320neo and A350 production, but the story says nothing about the A330. Some information about the A380neo timeline was also provided. The already announced A320/A320neo numbers were confirmed with some additional details. Production is increasing from the present 42 per month pace to 44 per month in January 2016, and then to 46 per month in March 2016 (these are entry into FAL dates - each supplier must of course reach that pace much earlier). "La depeche" also says that, according to their own sources, studies for a further rate increase to 50 per month in 2017 are far advanced. The suppliers' forum even discussed a possible 60 per month pace around 2020. I sum up information about A350 production and A380 neo in the relevant threads.
