I think that's just speculation of the author. The translated article says:
It looks like the author concludes that the failure is related to the hot weather. However, the failure could have been caused by another anomaly.

However, the failure could have been caused by another anomaly. My exact thoughts too, just booted up my PC to get a translation, but after reading the German text I already had that feeling. Airbus said the Hot Campaign was completed successfully and after the campaign some damage was found, of course Airbus might have said that to keep the speculation of delays on a low level, but it's their official reply. Furthermore, I'm no climate expert, but I believe Al Ain is very hot but not that humid, so I don't see how it could've failed hot&humid trials As long as the damage is classified as "Unspecified Damage" it could've been something minor as sucking up a rock from the runway, but it could also be something major which is being downplayed...
